THRIVE Early Learning Academy provides the highest quality care while being mindful of your child’s social needs, sensitive to their emotional needs, and challenging their cognitive abilities. We believe in creating a peaceful and loving environment that fosters a love for learning from an early age. Our program offers mixed-age group classes. Each classroom has children ages three to five years old. The benefits of mixed-age grouping creates a sense of family structure in the classroom. Other benefits include: leadership opportunities for older children, motivation for younger children, opportunities for development, and a sense of security.

Each classroom implements Montessori-based strategies. We will also be using other methods of instruction in the classrooms as we see fit for each group of children.  Montessori-based strategies include observation of each and every student in the classroom. We create a calm, wholesome, and peaceful classroom environment for the children. We use gentle strategies to redirect behaviors.

Our staff models grace and courtesy at all times. Children are free to move throughout the classroom and are also able to freely choose activities that interest them. Materials in the classroom are carefully chosen and proven to improve concentration, refine motor skills, and encourage independence. We refer to their play as work, because what each child chooses to do is important and valuable.

The THRIVE discipline policy assists children in developing emotional regulation and self-discipline through respectful interactions that support the child’s emotional growth.

The early years are a time of immense cognitive, physical and emotional growth for young children. Young children are still egocentric, meaning they still think mostly of their own needs and wants as opposed to the needs of others. Because of this, it is not unusual for young children to use physical or verbal aggression in an attempt to get their needs met.

It is our job as adults in the environment to guide children through this time by setting clear limits and following through appropriately and consistently. Staff help children understand the expectation for reasonable behavior by discussing, giving examples, and redirecting children to appropriate activities.

Gradually, children are helped toward self-control and they gain a sense of pride in their ability to care for themselves and each other!
