THRIVE Early Learning Academy (TELA) provides the highest quality care while being mindful of your child’s social needs, sensitive to their emotional needs, and challenging their cognitive abilities.
We believe in creating a peaceful and loving environment that fosters a love for learning from an early age. THRIVE believes in working with families to mold and shape well-rounded wholesome children.
Teachers at Thrive are trained to guide your child through their feelings. Whether that's comforting a child who is missing mama, guiding a child through frustration about a task, or celebrating them when they reach a goal and feel excited!
All of our Thrivers are offered plenty of opportunities to build gross motor skills by using the larger muscles in the body to run, jump, skip, hop, and crawl. This improves academic performances and important school-day functions, such as concentration.
Thrive Early Learning Academy has partnered with Bluegrass Kids Therapy to offer speech services to children that qualify while at school. Our on-staff specialist performs screenings, evaluations, and therapy to all our Thrivers in need.
Our teachers help children understand the expectation for reasonable behavior by discussing, giving examples, and redirecting children to appropriate activities.
Each classroom implements Montessori-based strategies. We use other methods of instruction in the classrooms as we see fit for each group of children. Montessori-based strategies include observation of each and every student in the classroom.
The foundation to reading is learning to make letter sounds as the basis to your child’s knowledge. Once the child builds their knowledge of letter sounds, their reading excitement skyrockets!
The benefits to offering opportunities for practical life are obvious, but practical skills also improve the fine motor skills needed for writing, and daily life.
Activities that help build connections in the brain, encourage motor skills, support language development, and encourage scientific thinking.
12:1 Student to Teacher Ratio!
Our math program offers skills introduced near the end of first grade in public school. We begin by introducing number identification and quantity. We place no limits on where the child goes!
TELA’s curriculum focuses heavily on many different science and culture studies through read-aloud books, shelf activities, experiments, and real-life experience.
One way we differ from a typical preschool experience is that all of the creative opportunities we offer are child-led, not teacher-led.
Our Montessori-based classrooms are prepared in advance based on observations of the students’ individual needs. They include student-centered lessons and activities. Traditional classrooms are based on teacher-centered lessons or activities. The Montessori philosophy is to be hands-on and active.
Our preschool offers mixed-age group classes. Each classroom has children ages three to five years old. The benefits of mixed-age grouping creates a sense of family structure in the classroom. Other benefits include: leadership opportunities for older children, motivation for younger children, opportunities for development, and a sense of security.
